No drives visible
Hi,
Can anyone provide me with a checklist of what to look for when my physical drives aren't visible anymore, I was in the middle of an Arcserve 7 Installation on a Novell 5.1 server using the E800 server, Netraid 1M and two 18gb hp scsi drives. The server went down and after restart there are no logical and no physical drives. Thanks, Erik

Re: No drives visible
Erik,
When you enter Netraid Express-Tools (Press Ctrl-M during POST) and you select Objects, Physical Disk. Do you see the 2 harddrives?
What's the firmware of the harddisks?
Is it HP03? then upgrade it to HP04.
See http://www.hp.com/cposupport/swindexes/hpfirmware19319_swen.html for instructions and downloads.

Re: No drives visible
Marco,
Guess I found the root of my problem:
First I did not see the hardrives, I noticed that the dat drive was also attached to scsi cable, when I removed it the logical drive was back and the physical drives where visible again under Netraid Express Tools setup. I will check the status of the firmware.
Erik

Re: No drives visible
Just an FYI for you if you didn't already know you do not want the DAT or any tape drive on a RAID controller you should run it off the embedded SCSI controller. In the e800 it has a symbios ultra 2 controller that should work fine.
