Re: no video display on E45
1. Check monitor.
2. Try a different display card.
3. Check your IDE drives if you have any(aught not to but do not have any manuals on me to check).
4. Reseat all add-on cards.
5. Power supply check. Try a different one.
6. Now start worrying about mother board.
That is the route I follow with those problems in general. Also try striping the system down to the bare bones, in terms of taking out and off all scsi and fancier peripherals .. even all the disk and IO cards to see if it does not come up, and you get a display.

Re: no video display on E45
try connecting a "terminal" (or laptop with terminal-emulator)to the management port (RMC) of the E45
typermc and see if there is any response from the management interface
if so isue a "status" command
if ok isue a "power-on" command
if this works than the power-switch on the frontpanel is faulty
also check de "cover-switch" if the system thinks the cover is open, it will not power on
=> open cover use something to hold down the cover-switch manualy and power on
BEWARE dont operate too long without cover improper airflow in the cabinet may occur wich can cause some components to overheat
for details over position of the cover switch and the use of the RMC see the user manual
