SCSI ID's Not responding
I've searched about everywhere i can on the message boards and I can't find the answer...
I have an LH4 (500 XEON, 1024 RAM)... and I don't claim to be a guru on any of this.
I get a "Following SCSI ID's not responding Channel-0:8." and then makes me press CTRL + M or any key to continue. During a remote reboot, pressing any key doesn't work.
So, my questions are... 1) How can i fix the problem? 2) HOw do i get around getting the "press any key" message?
I do not know if these particular servers are still under warranty either.
Thanks,
Q

Re: SCSI ID's Not responding
Q,
Pull ID 8 which will be in the right hand cage second from the top or if rack-mounted bottom cage second from right. Usually that message indicates a hdd that is not spinning up. Most LH4's are close to being out of warranty..
Once you pull ID 8 then boot into Ctrl-M and check the status of your array under objects-Physical drives. You should be showing in a degraded state or failed if you lost more than one hdd. If only ID shows as failed (You'll have to scroll down to find 8) then you should be able to boot to you OS--> but if you lose one more hdd you'll be done. You'll need a replacement hdd to replace ID 8 if reseating the hdd doesn't kick off a rebuild.
Ciao,
Greg
