system file corrupted or missing
hello all, i know it's late, but this is a real emergency. we just had our recent round of OS patches. i have a LH6000 that i patched with microsoft security patches. after the reboot. i get "/winnt/system32/config/system file corrupted or missing". any advice on recovery. i don't have rc installed. i tried installing a 2nd OS, but my partitions are all messed up. i don't want to repartition/reformat the disk, as i don't want to lose any data in it. can somebody please help. thanks

Re: system file corrupted or missing
Have you already reinstalled the OS by now?
Some basic TS steps here:
1. Boot from a DOS boot disk. Can you get to the C: drive? Is the C: drive FAT or NTFS?
2. If you cannot get to the C: drive from a DOS prompt, run FDISK and view (only view) the existing partitions. What does it report as your primary partition?
