Re: Window 2003 and netserver lc2000

Unfortunately, HP considers the Netserver as "Retired" and says Windows 2003 is "not supported". I know that doesn't help and I do hope you get a response here from someone that has installed it successfully. But don't misunderstand, this does not mean that the computer doesn't support it, only that HP does not "support" it through testing and drive re-writes with their name on them. You may find that everything that requires a drive is supported by Windows out of the box. If you need something, try the 2000 drive for it, but for the LC2000, I don't think you will need anything. Do make sure you have the lasted BIOS and firmware's though: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=19399&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodSeriesId=50440&prodTypeId=15351

Re: Window 2003 and netserver lc2000

I've had Windows 2003 running on an LC2000 for over a year now without any problems.

The machine is configured for dual boot, but I haven't used the Win2000 side of that server in a long time.

This machine runs as an active directory domain controller, and interops with a Win2000 DC.

If if ain't broke, don't fix it.

I installed it last week with no extra drivers required. I have a "U2" motherboard.

Re: Window 2003 and netserver lc2000

Hi Arturas,

There is no windows 2003 driver from HP for this server, as it is considered as retired driver haven't been released . However, I am pritty sure that the windows 2003 have a driver for the symbios scsi and/or any supported raid controllers on that server.
If you experience a problem with the scsi or raid driver from windows 2003 CD you ca try driver for windows 2000 whcih you can download from
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/DriverDownload.jsp?pnameOID=19399&locale=en_US&taskId=135&prodTypeId=15351&prodSeriesId=50440&swEnvOID=226

Keep in mind that windows 2003 is not tested and approved by HP on this servers.
