Windows 2000 Install problem on lp2000r
I'm trying to make a fresh installation of windows 2000 server on a HP Netserver LP2000r 1.13GHz. I added the third-party SCSI drivers supplied with the Navigator M.04.05 for Win2k (thru a floppy disk) using the F6 option during installation. After adding these drivers and while Windows setup continues installing the rest of its drivers, a STOP (blue) screen came out saying something about SCSIPORT.SYS error.
Anybody can tell me what could have gone wrong? Any similar incident on this?

Re: Windows 2000 Install problem on lp2000r
I would clear the cmos and update the BIOS.
To clear the CMOS, with the server off, locate switch #4 on the block of switches. Place it in the On position. Boot the server to the end of post. You will get a message to turn the server off and place the switch back. Power the system off, flip the switch back. Boot the server then go into F2 setup to do a save abd exit. If you haven't already, boot to the Nav CD to update the BIOS to the latest.

Re: Windows 2000 Install problem on lp2000r
I ran into a similar problem and spent several days trying different combinations to see if it was a hardware issue. It turned out to be the Windows 2000 cdrom was bad, even though it was readable and had no visible defects.

Re: Windows 2000 Install problem on lp2000r
There is a known issue with installing fresh copies of WIN2K on LP2000r machines.
There is a new BIOS upgrade for the LP2000r which fixes this problem. Its not on any of the Navigator CDs yet so you will have to download it from HP's website. Its either v 4.06.31 RB for sub 1.1 GHz machines or version 4.06.15 RP
for machines with 1.13/1.26/1.40 GHz processors.
This got rid of any blue screen errors and 'mass storage device not found' or 'mass storage device not accessable' errors.
