Backup problem
Hi!
I am facing backup problem from NAS. I have win nt and veritas backup exec 9.0 at the server side, The status of backup job is failing, in the log it is skipping some of the folders from NAS saying access is denied. even every folder has the same rights.
It gives the following error
Access denied to directory \.
Directory \\NAS\vipin\ was not found, or could not be accessed.
None of the files or subdirectories contained within will be backed up.
I have updated veritas also with new available revision but nothing happened, even after upgrading it is skipping more folders from NAS.
Please help me.

Re: Backup problem
Remember that not only directories have permissions. Files also have. In addition, backup can be run under another user account which really has no access rights to the files and directories

Re: Backup problem
Thanks for the reply.
I checked all the rights even with the files , everything is there but no success and one more thing it is not consistent in skipping these folders , sometime it skips 2 folders , sometime 3 or 4 or 5.
This problem is realy painful for me.
can u help further.
Thanks
Regards,
Vipin

Re: Backup problem
What are you doing about open file backup? In other words, is it possible somebody is in there with open/locked files or folders?
You might be better off backing up from a snapshot, rather than from the live filesystem.
