NAS 1200s Quick Restore Problem
I am attempting to run the Quick Restore DVD for a NAS 1200s via the HP dc3000 DVD Movie Writer USB device.
The system will boot to the HP StorageWorks NAS Quick Restore splash screen - then stop. The process will not continue.
Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

Re: NAS 1200s Quick Restore Problem
Brian,
The DC3000 is a supported optical drive, have you tried another restore disk? You can order another restore disk incase you have bad media here:
http://software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductsList.do?category=NAS
Is your system operational at all?
Ciao,
Greg

Re: NAS 1200s Quick Restore Problem
Greg - thanks for the response.
Eearly on in the troubleshooting process I did order replacement recovery CD's to rule out the media as the problem.
Per HP tech support, it turns out the DC3000 is NOT a supported device for the NAS 1200S - even though it IS listed in their tech specs. (Even as of today, 9/2/04). I mentioned in a not-so-polite-way that they might want to verify such things before publishing, since people such as myself rely on the accuracy of such data when creating specs for purchases.
I ended up returning the DC3000 and ordered the following supported device(s)that worked perfectly with the original CD:
Multibay USB Cradle - DC373A
Multibay 8X DVD-ROM Drive - DC352A
Yes...the device is operational. As this is our first NAS, I wanted to run through the recocvery process for DR purposes to familiarize ourselves with the procedures.
Thanks again for the response.
Brian

Re: NAS 1200s Quick Restore Problem
Brian,
Thats good to know and keep in mind. I'm glad that the multibay cradle worked for you as a final solution. I suspect that the old 200e would have worked too as that is listed for the 1000s.
Ciao,
Greg
