Problems upgrading Storageworks Data Copy to Openview Storage Mirroring
Are there any prescriptive tasks to complete on Storageworks Data Copy before beginning installation of Openview Storage Mirroring?
Background Notes:
1) This installation is being attempted on a NASB2000 with Windows 2000 service pack 4.
2) Have stopped the Data Copy service before attempting installation.
3) Installation of Storage mirroring complains about an older installation and does not allow completion.
4) Cannot perform Data Copy removal because the system has no indication of its installation (came pre-intsalled).

Re: Problems upgrading Storageworks Data Copy to Openview Storage Mirroring
Hi Stuart,
There is no NAS Data copy in the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS in the control panel?
Should be "StorageWorks NAS Data Copy"
Remove that and you should be good to go.

Re: Problems upgrading Storageworks Data Copy to Openview Storage Mirroring
John thanks for your reply, but I actually meant there was no mention of Storageworks NAS Data Copy in ADD/REMOVE programs.
I have sorted things out now though. After additional analysis, I surmised that the installation was corrupted. Therefore, I went into the registry and removed any instance of Storageworks NAS Data Copy so that the system had no knowledge of it. Openview Storage Mirroring then installed first time with no issues - Problem sorted :)
