User Authentication for NAS2000s
Hi ,
One of our customer has Active Directory(For authenticating Windows hosts) and NIS (For authenticating Unix hosts)
The customer wants all this Unix and Windows host to first authenticate on either NIS or ADS before they can access files on HP NAS 2000s.
I think the NAS 2000s should authenticate against ADS but iam not too sure about NIS authentications!
Can somebody shred some light on the User Authentication mechanism on NAS2000s or will the above two requirement be matched by HP NAS boxes?
Thanks & Regards ,
Vipul

Re: User Authentication for NAS2000s
Vipul,
Essentially, authentication will be performed by the ADS domain controller. Start on page 10 as you review the Microsoft document at this link. I think it will answer your question.
