I've got headache trying to find out which subnet mask gives what ranges of addresses

do you know a tool or a web site that can help calculate that ?

There are also some apps for the Palm and WinCE that I have seen as well. Hope this helps.

There is also very good docs on www.brainbuzz.com about subneting and also Variable length subneting(if you really want your head to hurt. It takes some practice but after you understand it you can do it in your head easily.
