11i Sept 2001 Document Error
The manual that comes with 11i Sept 2001 "HP-UX 11i installation and update guide" has an error on page 34 (Back Up Your System).
Paragraph "Using make_tape_recovery makes reference to a 'C' option "-ACv". There is no 'C' option. On the next page it makes the same reference to 'C'.

Re: 11i Sept 2001 Document Error
Not sure about the document. But the 'C' option normally use for creating the system status file - /var/opt/ignite/recovery/makrec.last

Re: 11i Sept 2001 Document Error
# make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vg00 -I -v -a /dev/rmt/0mn
...will create an Ignite recovery tape for all of vg00
Regards!

Re: 11i Sept 2001 Document Error
It says that it adds checksum information for the check recovery.
The latest version of Ignite are the best.
We are using 3.3.

Re: 11i Sept 2001 Document Error
That brings up another unresolved problem with Ignite-UX. Reference message: http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0xbf43a22831ebd5118ff40090279cd0f9,00.html
Last status. I reinstalled 11i Sept 2001. No good. Am now installing 11i June 2001.
Problem is tape creates OK using commands:
make_tape_recovery -ACv -a /dev/rmt/0mn
When trying to boot from tape after doing a sea then bo p1 I get the messages:
Booting...
Boot IO Dependent Code (IODC) revision 150
Failed I/O operation
ENTRY_IO
Status = -5
Followed by 4 lines of Hex codes
Error Reading IPL
Could not find any explanation of codes!
Then boot menu appears
The machine is a 9000/778/B132L
The machine seems to run fine other then Ignite and LP printing. Don't know if it matters the B132L has an 18.3GB SCSI drive.
The version of Ignite appears to be B.3.4.11.5
I am trying to do prep and testing on the B132 before upgrading a D270 and a D330 server. Not too happy so far.
Any ideas?
P.S. Another problem exists now that the B132 is on 11i. I can't print locally. lp spooler says can't open device. See message: http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,,0x123ba22831ebd5118ff40090279cd0f9,00.html printing under 10.20 worked fine!
