have at least 1025000 KB of free space and it currently has 419005 KB
of free space
ERROR: To perform this OS update, it is required that the /stand partition
have at least 80000 KB of total space and it currently has 78576 KB
of total space
NOTE: These problems must be corrected before attempting another update
Is there a parm I can use (-x) to ignore this message. Here is my bdf info.

1) Cold install, more reliable.
2) Remove optional software and try the update again. You'll have to increase /opt but can wait.
3) make_tape_recvoery boot restore off of it, intervening to increase filesystem sizes.
With option 3, I'd increase /stand and /opt. Maybe even /var
If you choose an option and want details let me know.

But I find it hard to believe that I need that much free in /opt.
I did delete .prev in .stand. that looks ok now.
but /opt...seems like a bug.

The update probably updates optional (/opt) software with newer, fatter, larger versions.
You are going to have to increase /opt eventually. The question is when.
That's why my option plan works. Because it lets you decide when to do it.
I suppose if there is lots of stuff on /opt that you never needed you can avoid increasing the /opt filesystem alltogether.
A big user of /opt is the Ximian GNOME X Windows. Mozilla and Netscape also install into that filesystem.
