3COM2924

Hello to everybody and thank you for your availability.

I would like to know, if there is a way (command line, or web config or writing on Notepad the running config backup), to enable the access via Telnet, or better SSH, on the switch 3COM 2924.

They support those protocols, and in web config, I also created a private key to enable SSH protocol, but the connection is always refused. I think that I miss to enable the "line vty" on this switch, but I really don't know how I can do it.

May someone explains me a solution to fix this parameter?

Thank you again.

Re: 3COM2924

A simple Google search for the manual tells you what you need to know.

There is no support for SSH at all.
It does respond to telnet and also has a web interface.

Re: 3COM2924

Thank you for the answer.
I already tried to find it on Google, but I didn't find any right answer for my situation.
I replace that, both SSH and TELNET protocols, are available under web config but I can't enable them at all.
When I try a connection, the result is "connection refused" for both (also for Telnet).
This is actually very strange.
May you explain me why or where do I wrong? Thank you.

Re: 3COM2928

Sorry for the reply.
The model is 3COM2928.
The question is about this model.
Sorry again.

Re: 3COM2928

Here is the 3com 2928 manual from HPE:

https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c02583205

The text "ssh" does not appear in the manual.
Section 3 has the webpage interface setup and section 4 talks about swiitch configs.

Re: 3COM2928

Thank you for the reply.
I have already read that manual and, as you told me, I didn't find telnet or ssh yet. But I found out them into web config of the 3COM2928.
Into the "Authentication" tab on the left of the web config, there is the part of "Users". Inside of it, there is "service type ssh, telnet" for the user created before.
For this I thought that telnet, or ssh, could be enabled be enable.
I thought maybe to correct "by hand" the console config opened with Notepad after backupping it and then restoring it, slway by web config. But I really don't know which string could be useful for me.
Thank you for the answer.
