A Bootable Ignite DVD
Hello
I am trying to create a bootable Ignite DVD, that will install the OS followed by some Applications.
I have create 2 depots on my Ignite server, 1 with the OS and 1 for the apps.
I have created and changed the config files so they point to DSK etc.
I then run
make_medialif -f /tmp/dvd/core -f /tmp/dvd/os_cfg -f /tmp/dvd/app_cfg -l /tmp/dvd/lifvol
Then I create my iso file
/usr/local/bin/mkisofs -U -max-iso9660-filenames -o /var/tmp/dvd/dvdfs.iso -D -b lifvol -no-emul-boot /tmp/dvd
Then I sort the lif area out with
/opt/ignite/lbin/instl_combine -C /var/tmp/dvd/dvdfs.iso
To test my image out I dd the iso file out to disk and try and install from my spare disk.
Everything seems to work fine, I get the Ignite menu and I can select the apps I want to install from my apps depot.
But the Install process only installs from the os depot, there are no errors and there is no mention of the apps depot during the install. After the OS install I get the OK message the server reboots and finishs with just the OS installed.
I must be missing something but I just cant find it !!

Re: A Bootable Ignite DVD
I had a control char in my config file, removed this all ok.
My DVD now install OS, my applications, patches and configures with my custom scripts.

Re: A Bootable Ignite DVD
I am trying to create bootable DVD's.
Do you have a process where you can include files > 2Gb?

The Devil is in the detail.
