Hi,
Are you using the correct cable? Use the cable which comes with the adaptor(s).
lanscan should show them as clic0, clic1 ...etc
Use sam to assign unique private IP, and try to ping between systems.
I believe you can use lanadmin to find out admin/oprating state of the card!
About the patch, yes if recomended by oracle, intstall.

Re: A6386A-60001 problem?
Hi,
First if this is Hyperfabric, you should use tools specific to hyperfabric rather then ioscan. Try to run clic_stat instead to look at the card status. For info on clic_stat, look here: http://docs.hp.com/en/B6257-90039/ch05s03.html
You may also look for errors in the log file /var/adm/clic_log (such as LINK DOWN or things like that).
Patch PHNE_30580 (for 11.11) solves a TCP/IP problem if you have installed LAN patch PHNE_25388; it also enables HMP for Oracle 9i and solves some panic problems.
So it is certainly good to have, but not sure it will solve your problem.
It is possible also that on either side you have a hw problem.
Regards,
Marie-Noelle
