Adding a customized printer-model Attribute in HPDPS

I am currently trying to install a HP LaserJet 9000n through HPDPS. Once I get to the printer model attribute my particular printer is not listed. If I manually input my printers model it will error out. Does anyone has a solution for this problem?

Have you tried with jetadmin or webjetadmin... it is easier to configure

Hi

Indeed best advise is do not use hpdps

>You can try this
A. Create a directory using model Name

/var/opt/pd/lib/YourModelName

B. You need to create the 4 files in the directory you created in A.
-attribute
-driver
-ipmap
-ip

C)Use
. pdcreate -c printer -x "printer-model=MyModel ..."

It will require looking at a lot of
information to put the right data in the files.

Good Luck to you
