Re: adding additional processors to a vPar

It works like this

# vparmodify -p ... -m cpu:::min:max

Just fill in name, min and max CPU.

Hope this helps!

Re: adding additional processors to a vPar

The notation is just

cpu:::min:max

by definition.

Compare to the admin guide.

Hope this helps!

Re: adding additional processors to a vPar

OR Sokolva -- you can just use the X-Windows GUI for managing vPars:

- set your DISPLAY
- /opt/vparmgr/bin/vparmgr

Re: adding additional processors to a vPar

... but only if this is 11.11 and the product is installed.

A single command is much easier...

Hope this helps!

Re: adding additional processors to a vPar

vparcreate -p vptest -a cpu::4 -a cpu:::2:4 -a cpu:1/14 -a cpu:1/15 ...

The syntax for CPU allocation with vparcreate
is:

vparcreate -ppartition_name [-a cpu::total] \
[-a cpu:::[min][:[max]]]] \
[[-acpu:hw_path]...]

Bound (Min ) CPUs are dedicated to a vPar and can't be dynamically removed or added to vPars. Bound CPUs handle I/O interrupts and should therefore be used with I/O-intensive applications. Unbound CPUs can be dynamically added and removed from vPars. Unbound (max) CPUs do not handle I/O interrups and should be used for CPU intensive applications

Re: adding additional processors to a vPar

Hi Sokolova

vparmodify -p vp_name -m cpu:::1:6

check the man page for vparresources in Table II it shows vpar has to be down to do this change
