Adding new VG

I want t o add new VG to my existing two node cluster. here are the steps if i miss something please suggest me..

halt pkg's

halt cluster

#vgexport –pvs -m /tmp/map.vgora1 /dev/vgora1 ---- on Node1

#rcp /tmp/map.vgora node2:/tmp/map.vgora # on Node1

#mkdir /dev/vgora1 # on node2

#mknod /dev/vgora1/group c 64 0x040000 # on node2

#vgimport -s -m /tmp/map.vgora1 /dev/vgora1

modify the .sh files on both the servers with the new VG and the FS as well.

Then start the CLUSTER and PKG.

But here i wnat to know how does the new VG will get into the cluster.ascii file...

please suggest.

Re: Adding new VG

You need to do a cmcheckconf/cmapplyconf after adding the vg to your cluster.ascii file.

Re: Adding new VG

Are you goung to add the VG to an exsisting package ?

Is this in a RAC cluster?

Re: Adding new VG

you do not need to halt un-affected pkg's or the cluster.
