Anyone using the HP Eclipse plugin for C++ ?

Our developers currently use emacs/aCC/wdb on HP-UX and have been happy up until now, but they'd like me to help them set up a proof of concept with Eclipse running on Windows. Fair enough, I've been hearing about it for a while.

I'm a sysadmin and not a full time developer, and apart from coding the usual "hello world" C program I can't really judge how the product is. So I just thought I'd ask to see what some people here are thinking of Eclipse.

What bugs me is that I'll need to enable a CIFS server running on HP-UX, which might make me clash with the Windows team... and also the security team... hassles I'd rather live without. Are there any serious alternatives using an SSH transport to access files on the home directories?

Thanks

Hi Olivier
To have a development environment running on Eclipse running on Windows, the plug-in to use is called "HP C/C++ Remote Developer Plugin". The link to this plug-in is http://www.hp.com/go/eclipse-remotedevplugin
On your second question, we have not tested the eclipse plugin with other alternatives to CIFS server to be able to recommend.
We can help you with the PoC which uses Eclipse on Windows. Can you please contact us at eclipse-plugins@lists.hp.com to help take this further.
