Re: Apache site

For apache you can download a depot from HP and use swinstall, or you can download the source from apache and build it yourself.

from hp:
http://www.software.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=HPUXWSSUITE

from apache:
http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi

To read word and excel files from hp-ux, I'm not sure what you'd need. If wine can be built for hp-ux, it might work. More info is here:
http://www.winehq.com

Also look at this app from the hpux porting and archive centre. It might help too.

Re: Apache site

Hi,

You can view them by using this tool:

wv

Downloadable here
http://hpux.connect.org.uk/hppd/hpux/Development/Tools/wv-1.0.3/

And there are plans for porting openoffice ti HP-UX. So far no binaries seen...

And staroffice is not having HP-UX on the supported OS roadmap. ;-)

Re: Apache site

wine unfortunely can't work on anything except i386 systems.
but personally I'd say it's good that way - pc's were made as fast typewriters, so leave it to them :)

I think applixware might have been available on HP-UX, but that's gone too.

You might give abiword a try, but still You will have to invest some more time than just downloading, it's not available prebuilt.

If You're in a hurry, use acrobat distiller on windoze and the reader on the hp-ux system.

besides - what makes You open a .doc or .xls file anyway?
yesterday I stood at the edge. Today I'm one step ahead.

Re: Apache site

Hi mangesh,

You can find in the link below the apache servers sw.

After dowlading, unzip it with command 'tar xvzf ' and read README file for other explanation

http://archive.apache.org/dist/httpd/binaries/hpux/

After installation you can test just writing

'localhost' in your webBrowser. Than you can configure it for any other hostname and IP.

Hope you handle this

Re: Apache site

For HP-UX, I have found it is easier to use the depot version from software.hp.com

There are a lot of features that you would normally have to add in built into HP's release, which is more secure and up to date.

No worries about compiling. If you need certain features only available via special compile options, go with the apache.org version.
