Autosys Migration.
We are currently running autosys job management v4.0 on HP900 servers with 1 master and 5 clients. Mgmt wishes to migrate to v4.5 and has asked me to prepare a feasibility report.
I just want to know advantages of v4.5 over 4.0 and also the steps if possible in migration.
Also the UI is customized and we want to add a drop down menu style calender function in the event of creation of new jobs. Can someone help me with any commands or a PERL script to do the same.
Your help is appreciated.

Re: Autosys Migration.
Making this do it yourself is going to take a lot of work:
http://www.thesitewizard.com/wizards/navigationmenu.shtml
http://www.chami.com/tips/internet/042999I.html
http://saratoga-weather.org/scripts-CSSmenu.php
Those links seem to do it via the web, which is not a requirement and can even be an impediment to job control.

Have you checked the AutoSys documentation?
That would be the FIRST place I would look for answers to your primary questions.

Re: Autosys Migration.
second: until support was dropped, you had the option of updating at no charge to r11, which supercedes V4.5.
Appears 4.5 may still be supported, but it might cost you, and you aren't real current on your releases.
as for what's is current, how long it will be available, what it will cost and migration pathes, you're probably going to have to talk to a CA rep. It's likely going to be $$$ as you appear to not be on maintenence at this time

Re: Autosys Migration.
We are doing this at nike. We had support for v4.0 till april 2008. Then the scehdulers were not working much. (like only 20-30%) of the workload usually assigned since we switched to Ctrl+M. Now its time to get back into CA autosys 4.5.. So what would be the best method. V4.5 or r11? Also i need to know the glaring diff if any b/w v4.0 and v4.5 in order to plan the migration.

Re: Autosys Migration.
I suspect that upward migration would be relatively trival.

Re: Autosys Migration.
I am mainly looking for documents now. I called CA and they had only tech specs and product brochure. I am mainly looking for a kinda like an experience sheet from ppl who have worked both on autosys r4.0 and r4.5 to notice any visible differences..??
Thanks again.
