SolutionHow to configure it generally requires a class of few days, not something one can help with a few lines of explanation.

Re: Autosys
LOL - cron should be forgotten - step up to the 21st century, my friend!
AutoSys allows for complex job dependencies and calendars, min/max run time, cross/multi platform compatibility, full integration with Unicenter monitoring tools such as EM Console, service desk, etc, run windows, job terminators, one-time run only jobs...
If you are bound by SOX compliance/FIC auditing, it is a great tool for tracking as well.
We run AutoSys job scheduling for FTP jobs, DTS packages, business critical applications, file watchers, reporting - Crystal, MS, home grown...we run jobs on a global scale all over the world using Windows, AS400, and Unix OS.
If you would need business reporting as well - slap JAWS from Terma Labs into the mix for reporting on its histoprical DB. AutoSys does not keep a historical DB - we have it set for 7 days. I think you may be able to keep a year of data, but i would ask the vendor.
I hope this helps?
Thanks,
John Surette
