Backup specification

Hi!
I need to create Backup Specification in Data Protector 5.5
How to do that from command line interface, not from the GUI?

Re: Backup specification

hi igor,

this can easily be done by creating the Backup Specification file in the directory: /etc/opt/omni/datalists/

e.g.
DATALIST "delete-me"
RECONNECT
DYNAMIC 1 5
DEFAULTS
{
FILESYSTEM
{
-lock
-no_hlink
-touch
-encode
-compress
-profile

} -protect days 1
RAWDISK
{

}
}

DEVICE "dds"
{
}

HOST "server.domain.com" server.domain.com
{
}

hope this helps!

kind regards

Re: Backup specification

Hi,

The specification sorted on the basis of applications are lying in /etc/opt/omni/barlists/ directory. You can copy existing specification and modify it as per requirements to get a new specifications.

Allthough it is always good to do this using GUI. Is there any special reason for not choosing that?
