Install the ignite utility which has the make_tape_recovery command, after installation issue the following commmand:
#make_tape_recovery -x inc_entire=vgxx -I -v -a /dev/rmt/omn
Where vgxx is your Volume Group, you can add if you have vg00, vg01. Refer to man make_tape_recovery.

Certain database programs do not support being imaged in this fashion when using raw disk partitions. Software AG's adabase comes to mind.
