Hi
We have got a va7400 with bad block relocation set to true. There is about 10 hosts connected to this VA running HP-UX11i in a MC-ServiceGuard cluster. These host has got Bad Block Relocation also switched on.
Should either be turned off or both be left on, and if it should be turned off witch of the two should be turned off.
Regards
Daniel

Solution
Hi,
here are some pointer, to let you decide.
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=141540

http://www4.itrc.hp.com/service/cki/docDisplay.do?docLocale=en_US&docId=200000066580817
Let's say: unfortunatly i do not remember the specifications or the VA7400, but since it is an evolution of the autoraid, i would turn it OFF.
Regards,
Massimo

Re: Bad Block Relocation
LVM's Bad Block Relocation feature is supposed to be removed completely in the future... simply because all supported disks/diskarrays provide their own flavour of bad block handling.
I personally tend to recommend lvchange -r N... always. Simply because this additional level of error handling makes fault isolation more complex without need.
Best regards...
Dietmar.
