We are planning to upgrade SAP 4.7 E (Enterprise) from SAP 4.0 B.
I would like access to PDF/Manuals/Guides/training material for the enhancement/additions made in the Basis related Transaction codes such as DB02/SM51/ST03 etc.
Please do not sugggest general SAP/SAPNet sites.
I would like specific links or attachements.

A rigid mind is very sure, but often wrong. A flexible mind is generally unsure, but often right.

Solution
Hi,
I have done this several times from
Rampup 4.70 Eext Set 1.10
up to the current
4.70 Ext. Set 2.0.
Meanwhile the technical procedure is extremly stable. I asked SAP if there will be a new Service-Release available and I was told there will be one, may be end of august, may be end of september. If schedule permits, wait for the latest service release of 4.70 Ext.2.0.
It saves a lot of time, because you have to bind less patches to the upgrade procedure.
Stay close to the upgrade guide and obey the additional OSS-notes :-) Guess you know that !
Plan ahead to have OS and DB upgrades first, so that you do not need to do all at once. In addition, you can use new upgrade strategy downtime minimized. This will do everything from EU_IMPORTS up to and including DDIC-ACTIVATION during uptime (System Switch Upgrade).
If you have ADD-ONs in the System (IS-Something, check TA SPAM for that and tables AVERS/CVERS/UVERS...) checkout if the suplemental Upgrade CDs are available and if there are deverting restrictions concerning the target release.
If you have a lot of self developed objects, which are not only reports, but dialog transactions, you will face some changes from 4.0B to 4.7.
There will be need for a code-review. If this is a big task, check out, if you want to convert to unicode after the upgrade. If yes, the code revision needs to be more tight and it would be a shame, if you would need to review your code three months later again in case you decide "yes".
Authorisations did change a bunch. Calculate that you will need some time to adjust your authorisation concept.
If Oracle is below your system, DB02/SM51 are quite the same, but ST03 did change a whole lot. The best documentation is the online documentation. You'll get a cd with the upgrade package, but can access http://help.sap.com in advance (No SAPNET User required, several languages available).
Nice enhancements in basis are transactions RZ20 for monitoring and SSAA (System Administration assistent).
If you want to use new WEB-AS features, you should check Documentation for transactions SMICM and SICF as well as the SAP-J2EE documentation. If you want to use J2EE start at least with release 6.30. May be better wait for 6.40 (was trainer-recomendation on TADMD3 training a few weeks ago).
Summary: http://help.sap.com is what you like to have first !
Good luck
Volker
