Re: BCH BOOT

nPar:
Like a regular, non-partitioned HP-UX. Reboot/power-on the system, watch the console of that particular nPar and press any key within the 10 second delay to interrupt the boot sequence when prompted.

vPar:
There is no BCH mode for individual vPars, only for the unit of hardware that runs the vpmon and the set of vPars on top of it. To get the underlying hardware to BCH mode, you must shut down all the vPars in the machine (or nPar, if you're running vPars within nPars) and the vpmon.

If you want to do something to one particular vPar only, read the vPars documentation to find out the proper procedure in vPar environment: it probably involves a command like vparmodify or vparboot.

Re: BCH BOOT

In order to get to the BCH menu you have to "RS" the nPar. If the nPar is supporting vPars then the vPars have to come down in order to get the BCH menu.

What are you looking to do ?
