BCH logs

HPUX11.11v1
RP2450

Would someone please clarify for me how I get a copy of the infolog from the BCH menu. I understand I need to interrupt the boot process, but what is the normal process after that?

thanks
Maria

Re: BCH logs

Hello Maria,

Here are the steps once you interrupt the boot process:

Step1: Type "in" for information menu
Step2: Typ "all" for "Display all system information"

Given below are the options you will get in the Information menu.

---- Information Menu --------------------------------------------------------

Command Description
------- -----------
ALL Display all system information
BootINfo Display boot-related information
CAche Display cache information
ChipRevisions Display revisions of major VLSI
COprocessor Display coprocessor information
FwrVersion Display firmware version
IO Display I/O interface information
LanAddress Display Core LAN station address
MEmory Display memory information
PRocessor Display processor information
WArnings Display selftest warning messages
IORevisions Display IO/Memory Chip revision info

In Case you are looking at HPMC related information , for that you will have to go to the service menu , by typing "ser" at the BCH prompt , after that type "PIM".

Hope this helps.

Re: BCH logs

When you are done with collecting info then to start normal boot process execute

bo pri

So hpux will start booting.

Re: BCH logs

The most interesting logs at this level are WARNINGS after the selftests and PIM information after a system crash.

You'll find more systems logs from GSP (press CTRL B and type SL).

You can get the "infolog" also by running the online diagnostic (info tool) on the system item.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
