BIND version

Hi,

How do I find the version of BIND that is running on my HP-UX box? (it is not installed through swinstall)

Here's another way:

dig @yourdnsserver version.bind chaos txt

;; ANSWER SECTION:
version.bind. 0 CH TXT "9.2.3"


Unless you set in your named.conf:

version "Wild DNS";

;; ANSWER SECTION:
version.bind. 0 CH TXT "Wild DNS"

The latter is if you want to "hide" your version from prying eyes :)
