I have not been able to reboot the server, or to reboot into single user mode successfully, the server starts the load of the kernel, then locks up again....
Is there a way to boot the server into some sort of maintenance mode, or from CDROM and then mount file systems to try and find what is causing the problem ??

Re: Boot into Maintenance Mode
I didn't try the previous kernel, not thinking it could be a kernel problem as a kernel hasn't been created sine the last maintenance patches were applied about 3 months ago..

Re: Boot into Maintenance Mode
Then use vx_emerg_start to start the diskgroup. It might be necessary to clean a volume/group state with vxmend etc.
My 2 cents,
Armin

Re: Boot into Maintenance Mode
(1) Try to login with your console ip.
(2) Depending upon your model you will get "MP" and "GSP" prompt, select the "CO" option and reboot the server.
(3) Interrupt the booting sequence.
(4)Intereact with IPL > y
(5) ISL> hpux -lm (you will be in Maintenance mode.
Regards,
Subodh.

Re: Boot into Maintenance Mode
Ended up finding the cable for the drive was broken, replaced cable, and I was actually able to boot the server up without having to restore.....
