btlan6
We have two V Servers running 11.0 with multiple btlan6 cards. I want to shutoff autonegotiation and set the speed to 100FD.
If I try to do this in SAM I get the following error when selecting one of the lan cards: (The driver specific script in /usr/sbin doesn't support the setting of Speed, Duplex and Autonegotiation parameter.
This problem is only on the V Servers with btlan6. Where can I find the latest configuration script.
Thanks

Re: btlan6
/etc/rc.config.d/hpsppci100conf
and if I'm not mistaken, the variable to set is "HP_SPPCI100_SPEED[0]".

Re: btlan6
to change speed and autonegotiation for btlan6
you can modify file: hpsppci100conf in /etc/rc.config.d directory:
xxx_SPEED --> 10HD, 10FD,100HD, 100FD, auto_on
After you must reboot the system.
To do it in dynamic, use command:
lanadmin -x nmid 100FD (get nmid with lanscan),
but you need to update hpsppci100conf file if you want to keep this config after reboot.

Re: btlan6
Look at the link provided by me. There you will get the driver file corresponding your hardware (HP Product No).

Re: btlan6
I edited the hpsppci100 file in /etc/rc.config.d with the proper information. When the system was rebooted the lan card would not come up until we set the network switch back to autonegotiation. I then went into SAM and if gave me the error I posted above!
It seems to be complaining about the hpsppci100_init in the /usr/sbin directory?

Re: btlan6
also set this in the /etc/rc.config.d/hp*
HP_BASET_SPEED[1]=100FD
double check in the /etc/rc.config.d/hp* entry that "auto_on" is not set as this will set Auto Negotiation on on the Card,
HP_BASET_SPEED[1]=100FD auto_on (might be in another config file)

Re: btlan6
so, i'd make sure you have the latest sam patches (i dont' think they will require a reboot).
if you can do the reboot, i'd also make sure you have the latest lan common and btlan6 patches installed.
on a personal note, i myself prefer to leave everything auto because all it takes is someone forgetting a config setting somewehre or moving cables around to really mess things up. i have led what may be a charmed autoneg life, using mostly procurve switches
