Can I retrieve data from a crashed disk?

Hi folks,

Recently I experienced a crashed system.. is there anyway I can retrieve the data from a crashed disk? How can I hook it up to a working system and retrieve the data?

Thank you for your help!!

Re: Can I retrieve data from a crashed disk?

Hi,

I think at 3 possibilities :
1) put this disk in an existing server, and try to vgimport/mount any partition on it. I think there is a thread that explains this very clearly : i will search.
2) Open an hp software call to have support. They certainly will have a solution for you,
3) send your disk to an compagny that is expert in data recovery. Check before that they work with HP disks/filesystems, and how much it will cost.

Olivier.
They say "install windows 2k, xp or better", so i install unix !
