Mathan,

From the messages in your logs, it would seem that you're having problems with the fans.
" Fatal power or environmental problem "
" PROBLEM DETAIL: 6 = insufficient # of fans
prevents operation "

You need to get the fan(s) replaced or repaired in order for the machine to start up.

Hello Mathan,

One fan that goes into failure is not such a problem, the others should be able to cool your system sufficiently enough to keep your system running.

Maybe you can check what model of server you are using? Check with 'model'.
If you have an A-class, I do recall from working in HP support that there was an issue with the CPU fan that went into less spins when the system was adequately cooled but did not increase the spins of the fan when the CPU gets hotter.

How is the cooling of the area the system is in? This could also have an influence on the cooling of the system.

Anyhow a HW call to the response center is in order to have the failing fan replaced.

Carlo

In the long term, you also may to install the latest 11.11 patch for the diagnostics since there are a couple of rare cases where you can get some false reads on the diags.

The latest and greatest is:

Mathan,

You need to get that fan replaced. I don't know what model server this is so I can't give details. Depending on model, configurations, etc. a server can loose a fan and keep running, but if the system is powered down you won't be able to start it up again without getting that fan replaced.

This is indicated by "insufficient # of fans" in the error messages.
