Re: cannot boot my system from CDROM

Hi,

It can be a drive or CD issue. The drive as are not used frequently can have dust accumulated on the lens & CD media can also have the problems ?
Try cleaning drive lens first.

What if you boot from the disk & go to LVM maintenance mode from ISL using hpux -lm.

Re: cannot boot my system from CDROM

Hi

At IPL search for bootable media by sea ipl and then see if CD drive is listed. Else media or drive can be bad.

Re: cannot boot my system from CDROM

Hi,

give sea ipl at BCH main menu and wait for it to search bootable medias , then try the No. corresponing to the CD-ROM drive

It could be a CD problem as well.

thanks

Re: cannot boot my system from CDROM

We had similar issue and was fixed by properly inserting/securing ide/scsi connector behind cdrom drive. Could you have a look.

Re: cannot boot my system from CDROM

It is a cdrom drive issue, you have to replace your cdrom drive. I had the same problem and i tried all the neccessary commands to check whether cdrom is working or not. Just replace your drive and it will work.
