Cannot change passwd
Hi
On 11.0 I cannot change the root-pass.
I can login as root, write passwd, it asks for old pass and I type the same as I logged in with, then it says Sorry:
dk002:/#passwd root
Changing password for root
Old password:
Sorry.
dk002:/#
How can I resolve that?
Regards
Tonny

Re: Cannot change passwd
Tonny,
HPUX 11 will onlt accept an 8-character long password for root. If your root password is longer than that, just enter the first 8 characters and the password change prompt:>>> Old password:
I hope this works for you!

Re: Cannot change passwd
Only 0'es were returned from the command.
But resetting the password helped.
The password were more than 8 chars, but I had no trouble changing it on other similar servers.
Thank for your help :)
