cannot install KRNG11i
I tried installing The Strong Random Number Generator depot on our hpux 11.11 server but the installation hung at 18%. I looked in the log file and it reads:
Generating module: krm...
mkdir: cannot create lib: I/O error
*** Error exit code 2 (ignored)
Compiling /stand/build/conf.c...
Loading the kernel...
It doesn't do anything from here. Can I kill the process? Do I need to rebuild the kernel?
I tried a mkdir on /stand/build/lib but couldn't. It gave me an I/O error. Any advice on what to do from here would be appreciated.
James.

Re: cannot install KRNG11i
The installation went through successfully. It just took an awefully long time. Thanks.

Re: cannot install KRNG11i
Looks like a broken disk or a corrupt /stand volume to me.
Are there any SCSI errors in /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log?
Do you have the OnlineDiag package installed? If not, do so and check the disk with stm, mstm or xstm)!
My 2 cents,
Armin

And now for something completely different...
