cannot open checkinstall
I am posting this here because I believe this is an OS issue not a Measureware (MWA) issue.
I have a CD with MWA for Solaris C3.0.45. Rather than having to mount the CD on every Solaris system, I tar-ed the contents of the CD to a directory that is NFS mounted on all the Solaris systems. When I try to install the lite weight dce package I get the following error:
## Executing checkinstall script
/common/rpmtools

/common/rpmtools/HPlwdce/install/checkinstall:cannot open
pkgadd: ERROR: checkinstall script did not complete successfully
If I try to install from the CD it works fine. If I tar to a local directory, I get the same error.
Should I try something other than tar to copy the files?
Thanks,
Marty

Re: cannot open checkinstall
The tar to a local directory was created from an NFS mounted CD. When the tar was created from a locally mount CD, the tar to a local directory installs fine. Go figure.
Lesson learned: Watch out for tars created from NFS mounted CDs.
