Cannot print to printronix printer...

I am unable to print to a Printronix P6080L ser.C309933 through an HP Jet Direct 500EX J3265A. This printer was on an Extended Systems print server and we have tried to put it on this jet direct. We have tried to print a configuration page from the Jet Direct box but we get nothing(yes it is connected to port-1) I have set this ip and name in the /etc/hosts and did the setup in jetadmin.. Nothing works !!!

I'm not real familiar with Printronix, but I had a couple minutes.....I found this thread and thought it might be helpful (or at least lead you to a place you might find your answer..)

If you can't print a test page, there is definitely an interface problem between the JetDirect and the Printronix. I'm going to ask sort of a dumb question, but it should be asked... Does your Printonix have a parallel interface? The vast majority that I've worked with have been serial instead.
