Cant boot, utmp message....

Hi,

Im getting this message when i try to boot

INIT: failed write of utmp entry: "cons"

What does it means ?

I think,

/var is full (100%)

The fact that its referencing "cons" means that it is the getty for your console that is having problems.

I'd suggest that a single user mode boot might get you past this.

Its likely that / is full.

So a boot to single user mode then mount some additional filesystems and see if there is something that you can move off of / to another file system.

thanks, but /var is ok.

now im getting this msg

Error writing VGDA[1]

i'm able to boot in LVM maintenance mode (hpux -lm) and i can activate the vg, but im kinda stuck now, should i replace the disk ?

ok, it's working now

maybe a scsi connector it was faulty, i dont know what happened

i think the best is to make a full backup
