Re: CD-ROM mounting problem
Hi Imran,
1.First check device file for ur cdrom using ioscan
ioscan -fnC disk
2.Create a mount point
mkdir /cdrom
3.mount
mount /dev/dsk/cXtXdX /cdrom
cXtXdX is the device file from ioscan
Hope this works

Re: CD-ROM mounting problem
Just try this
Put any of HP CD (say OS installation cd or aplication cd) in to drive.
DO NOT mount cdrom.
start swinstall using "swinstall" command
Inside swinstall window,click/select on "find local cdrom" button.
If the cdrom drive has no hardware problem,It should display the softwares in the cd.

Re: CD-ROM mounting problem
As instructed by you done the same but the same message appear device busy:
used swinstall command locate the local CD-ROM drive and received the follwing message:
There are no mounted CD-ROMs on wss2 . This could be because there is no local CD-ROM as a depot source, the SD CD-ROM must be inserted in a local drive, then mounted, you can use sam to mount the CD-ROM.
Myles,
It is not an Aduo CD.
Still awaiting help.

Re: CD-ROM mounting problem
Try with another HP UX OS Install CD or a HP Unix application CD.Some CDRs will not get mounted.

Re: CD-ROM mounting problem
The only other suggestion is to attach an external CD-ROM drive and try that.

Take a look at the last message on next question.

Think you better call HP support.
