Re: cd rom problem on D230
Is your DVD drive an external drive?
Check your SCSI cables. Fix it properly.
Try reading from a different media??
do an ioscan adn see whether the device is getting detected?
Change the SCSI Id of the drive and do and insf -e to bind the dvdrom drivers to the new hardware address.
with best wishes

Re: cd rom problem on D230
Is this a new problem to a system that has been working fine until recently?
You might ensure you have the latest HW Enablement bundle installed and also update your OnlineDiag.
If you are getting this error, but the cdrom appears to be working okay, a newer version of OnlineDiag might do the trick.
