Can someone tell me how to change the display resolution of a CDE session?

Re: CDE display resolution
I don't think you can change the display resolution on the fly from within CDE. I beleive that it is set globally and not on a per user or per session basis. I think you can only do that by pressing the appropriate key (TAB I think) to select a different graphics interface when prompted during a system reboot.

Re: CDE display resolution
Recent display devices support setting the display resolution from sam. Start sam and open the "Display" and "Monitor Configuration" icons. Select
your display device and use the "Modify Monitor Type" action. Sam will need to restart the X server, (and log you out), to change the resolution.
If you have a monitor that depends on separate sync signals then you will need to use one of the "VESA" settings from the listed configurations. Some display cards have "stereo" configurations that will only work with high-end monitors that can handle really high refresh rates.

Re: CDE display resolution
Thanks for the input, I have been changing the display with the xterm display settings like you mentioned, but was hoping there was a .dt file somewhere that controlled display resolution. oh well. The sam suggestion is only available to root and I assume would change it for everyone.
