CDE Invalid folder specifications, /root
Hi,
I have rp5470/L3000 with HP-UX 11.11, I had started VNC server and I was connecting to the CDE with vnc client. After upgrade to HP-UX 11.23 I'm connecting to the CDE, but I'm unable to start File Manager. If I click at the "Home Folder" icon I get the following message "Invalid folder specifications, /root" even with different users. If I try to start dtfile or click at the "Application manager" icon I get this message: "Invalid folder specification /var/dt/appconfig/appmanager/root-hp-1" or "Cannot read from /var/dt/appconfig/appmanager/root-hp-1". I found only three threads about this topic, they were about hostnames and fqdn, but none of them helped me. I thought it was permission problem or hosts problem, but I wasn't able to fix it.
Some details about the system:
- I have two lans, only the second one is configured
- nsswitch.conf is copy of nsswitch.files
- resolv.conf contains valid dns, because of some tests with nsswitch.conf
- I have FQDN in netconf and hosts files

And the question is, do you have any ideas why this might be happening and please have in mind that this is customer production system and I'm unable to reboot or get more information for now. Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
sve
