CDE PROBLEM

After changing the display card CDE is not working in hp 735 Workstation.

This is quite a little less information to give an answer, but i will try it:

Maybe the new card uses a new device file. You should run the 'graphinfo' or 'ioscan' command to find the devices file and modify the /etc/X11/X0devices file using this new device file.

this could well be a problem wrt device files :

try this : run rmsf /dev/*crt*

run insf -evd framebuf

bring the system up to run-level 3

result ? is anything displayed on the local console now ?

if not drop to run-level 2 and run /usr/bin/X11/X :0 (use to kill .... do you see a grey mesh screen : if yes this is more likely to be a CDE rather than an Xserver, graphics card issue .

other thoughts : check /var/dt/Xerrors , run dr_dt, run graphinfo .... what's is the new graphic card ?
