Re: CDROM drive

To make my question clearer I want to ask the question in a different way:
Do u know if there is a utility or a system call that can lock CDROM drive from openning, even if somebody push "open" button in the CDROM drive ?

Re: CDROM drive

ofcourse if the CDROM drive is busy , even if u push the open button cd drive wouldn't open.
if it is not in use it will open. what is the logic if cd drive didn't open when it's not in use.there is no special function from hp to do your job

Re: CDROM drive

Hi Ravi,
Thanks for your answer.
The reason to lock CDROM when it is not in use is because my customer want to protect his CDROM drive from any damage that can be done by strangers !
Maybe it is strange question - but this is customer needs ...

Re: CDROM drive

Hi Ravi,

I think it's not a good idea, because my customer asked to lock the CD drive without CD inside it.

Thanks anyhow , Yossi
