Solutionyou cannot change this is this is just the model of the disk from manufacturer. if you want it to show a Fujitsu disk then you need to install one.
when you say see wrong type? what exactly do you mean? does the original boot disk disappear from the list? it may be further down the list if its a higher scsi id than the new disk.
If you have repalced it then this is the new type of disk

Re: Changing disk name
In older OS we have /etc/disktab to do certain things, but in your case it is not possible.
My question as long as it enables you to install and work why to bother about the disk name / model?

Re: Changing disk name
my question is, because there is a extention disk_4 which seems to added by someone, and it would be nice to remove this entry to have no mistake. But if it is not possible i can work with this.
Thank you for your answers.

Re: Changing disk name
Please let us know where do you see disk_4 extension. Better still give us the output of the following command...that would make it clear...
ioscan -funC disk

Re: Changing disk name
I missed the part "search while booting" part. Pardon me. By the way , we can't change the name the way it displayed at PDC level. The name displayed is by the firmare probing for the device. If the name should be display as it was displaying before in the other server, then may be you need to match your current PDC version with the other system. If the PDC version mismatches, then we need to think of somehow upgrading the PDC firmware. Its not advicable to do so, just because the name display of the disk should be different.
I had be happy as long as the system is able to boot from the said disk. The name has no signification for the system operation.
