Re: Check memory size

Hi Ken,
One method is to find out from PDC when the system boots terminate the boot option and do a info on mem.
This will tell you about each slot.

Or if you have online diagnostics loaded you can see to stm. select RAM and do an information. You'll see all slots and memroy here.

Re: Check memory size

Unfortunately 10.20 does not provide the same quality of information hardware, as 11 and 11i. Try utilising either 'cstm' of 'xstm' interactively to get the information. I am fairly sure it does not show the spare slots, only the ones occupied. Here is a similar discussion where the information could be found in the PDC. You can only get to this, from booting your system.

Re: Check memory size

If you have STM installed then
You can do a

#echo 'selclass qualifier memory;info;wait;Infolog'|cstm

to find out the memory slot distribution

Else

Interrupt the auto boot, and go to information
menu (in).
me -> memory information.
The system must be rebooted for this

Try this or else,

Re: Check memory size

Hi,

I cannot find "cstm" or "xstm" in HP-UX k400 B.10.20 A 9000/829. Anybody had other suggestion.

Re: Check memory size

to get the cstm or stm or xstm you'll have to load the online diagnostics that come with the support plus CD.

Otherwise there is no other way then rebooting the machine and find the details from PDC.

Re: Check memory size

Use STM to get this information:
1) mstm to run the menu version of STM.
2) select the memory
3) run tools - information - run
You will get the information about the slots you want.

I hope this help you.
