CIFS Client 9000
Hi,
I have installed a CIFS Client on a HP-UX 11.0.
It works quite well, but now, we can not ping the server from an external connection. It's still alive within the lan network.
Does the CIFS change the time-out connection parameter ?
Thanks for help.
StTphane.

Re: CIFS Client 9000
Hi Ayadi,
Check your settings again. Also check if you have errors in /etc/rc.log for net files. See this link as well:

Re: CIFS Client 9000
Ayadi,
As far as I know, CIFS does not change any network configuration parameters. Any parameters that are changed are for CIFS itself in it's configuration file and would not affect anything outside of CIFS on the network.

Re: CIFS Client 9000
Ayadi,
CIFS will do nothing of that sort to you server, especially if you only installed the Client. Find the route from your external connection all the way to the HP server and see if there are new firewall or routing rules denying ICMP traffic.

C
