CIFS-Server(Samba)
I am having a HP Unix Box
Version --> HP-UX - B.11.00 U 9000/800
Installed with CIFS-Server Software
# swlist -l product |grep -i CIFS
CIFS-Server A.01.01 CIFS/9000 (Samba) File and Print Services
When i am trying to access one of the share folders of this server from a windows system
it is just asking for User name and password
but not getting connected
1 -->I confirmed the Unix user name and password is working fine with the server
2 -->The user is a NIS user not a Local user to the Unix server system
3 -->The /etc/opt/samba/smb.conf file variable for "encrypted passwd = no "
4 --> it is not allowing to run the "smbpasswd username" command as the user name is not a local one
Can anybody help me with more Check list for this problem ?
if anybody is having hands on experiance on this please confirm any client software is to be installed on windows system to access the unix share when CIFS-server (Samba) is using
Thanks In Advance
